Launch the Wryre Bash help (its an HTML file that will pop open in a browser). Some of these guides are hidden gems, most are crowding your mind. Otherwise you're going to drown in a game almost 2 decades old with so much HINTS AND TIPS it will make your head spin, as you are probably already aware. You can pick the tool, but you it's definitely best to learn THIS tool and only this tool. There's a lot of tools telling you need a LOT OF TOOLS. I promise you it's much easier than what I've just typed sounds - even I'm double checking what I've just written but I can install a mod and run LOOT in my sleep!ĭon't download ALL THE THINGS. Just stick with the main game one until you're comfortable with downloading it and using LOOT to sort your list through MO2. That being said, if you've not done any modding before, I'd recommend downloading and installing MO2, downloading and installing LOOT (again, it's a better base to learn from than BOSS which is specifically best for Oblivion only once you have a complicated load order, which you don't) and following the instructions to link it to MO2 - then head to the Nexus and download and install the Unofficial Patch through MO2. I'll probably get hate for this here, but if you're a beginner modder, I'd recommend using MO2 over Wrye Bash - it's a very understandable UI, and it's the recommended tool for almost every other Bethesda game (which I'm assuming you also enjoy if you're here) and there are plenty of tutorials (I'd highly recommend GamerPoets, he took me from a basic modder to an intermediate one in a few very short videos) about how to use the more complicated tools in addition to MO2 once you find you need it

Modding is pretty simple but definitely gets easier once you jump in and just start tinkering, only then will the videos start to make sense.
